From Energy to Furniture | Canvus Forges a business model to recycle wind-turbine blades

Brian Donahue, managing partner of Canvus, thinks about his company's manufacturing facility as a kind of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. 

"It's funny because, from the outside, it's just a warehouse, a big, old box (of a ) warehouse," Donahue said about the building where Canvus recycles spent wind turbine blades as outdoor furniture. 

"You walk in here and ... there is no manufacturing facility in the world that is like this, Zero. It's wild," Donahue said. He pointed to a 40-foot, hollow turbine, blade piece set to be cut into cross sections by a towering, computer-controlled, diamond-wire saw most companies use for cutting granite or other stone...
